Ownership of Content
The website's domain and content* is the property of the client.
*Website content becomes the property of the client when the account is paid in full.
Contracts
J1S Web reserves the right to work with any business that seeks to employ our services. Therefore, J1S Web will not agree to or sign any exclusivity, non compete or other contract.
Termination of Website Management
Website management may be terminated at any time by the client. Website content* and the domain will be transferred to the client.
*The account must be paid current before website content is transferred. Domain and hosting fees are non-refundable.
If you require assistance in moving your website content to another hosting account, a $100.00 website migration fee will be charged.
Website Content
We will not design or host any website that contains, links to, or promotes any material that is obscene, adult-oriented, threatening, unlawful, abusive or libelous. Content cannot express hatred, prejudice or violence, or encourage criminal activity. We reserve the right to refuse to design or host any web site that J1S Web deems to be inappropriate. We do not endorse products nor are we liable for any product claims on our clients' websites. J1S Web does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, or political viewpoint.
Website Management Training
J1S Web does not offer training to clients for managing or editing their website content. We do update content at an affordable rate of $60/hour. Clients will be invoiced a minimum of one quarter hour per request and will be billed monthly. Flat fee quarterly billing is also available to clients that require frequent or monthly website updating.
Payment
Domain, hosting fees and 50% of website design are required as down payment* for all website orders. The balance is due 7 business days after website work is completed. Payments are accepted by check (US funds only) or PayPal (make credit card payment on our website). Payment is also due 7 business days after receiving an invoice for website updates or changes completed, unless prior arrangements have been agreed to.
Down payment is NON-REFUNDABLE. *The Starter Plan requires full payment up front.
We reserve the right to require full payment in advance on work for clients outside the state of Michigan. All checks must clear before a project is started.
Returned Checks
If a check is returned for nonsufficient funds, the amount of the check plus a $50 NSF fee will be charged. No further work will be done on a client's website until the fee is paid.
Annual Domain & Hosting Renewal
Annual hosting and domain renewal is invoiced 30 days prior to the renewal date. Terms are 30 days.
If hosting expires due to non-payment, a $50 re-activation fee will be applied to restore hosting. The domain registrar may also apply additional charges to redeem your expired domain. J1S Web only provides hosting for websites we develop and/or manage.
